(Carum carvi) Biennial. A multipurpose herb with edible seeds, leaves and roots that have a flavor of anise and licorice undertones. The seeds are the most popular and are commonly used in rye bread, curries, soups, sausages, vegetables, and even liqueurs. Roots can be enjoyed like carrots or parsnip. Edible leaves are perfect for salads.
To Grow:
Start indoors 4-6 weeks before last average frost or outdoors after last frost. Plantings will bloom and produce seed in the second year.
