(Thymus serpyllum) Perennial. A low-growing perennial herb that spreads beautifully, forming a lush carpet of aromatic leaves with charming purple flowers. It is highly adaptable and thrives in sunny, dry spots. Excellent for rock gardens, containers, and walkways. The leaves of Creeping Thyme are edible and add a delightful herby flavor to dishes and herbal tea. With its diverse range of health-promoting properties, Creeping Thyme is also a valuable addition to our wellness routines.
To Grow:
Direct sow in spring or start indoors 8 weeks before last frost. Scatter the seeds evenly over the surface. Gently press the seeds into the soil, as they require light to germinate. Cover the tray or pots with a thin layer of vermiculite or fine soil, keeping evenly moist. Once the seedlings have developed a few sets of true leaves transplant into larger pots or into the garden after the last frost. Provide adequate sunlight, water the plants moderately, and watch as your Creeping Thyme flourishes and spreads its delightful foliage.
