(Lupinus Texenis) Hardy Annual, Native Wildflower and State Flower of Texas. Elegant spikes of vivid blue and white tinged flowers gracefully cover the ground from spring to summer. Sage-green foliage forms attractive rosettes in winter. Fragrant flowers are highly attractive to pollinators. Cold and drought tolerant.
Aka Texas Lupine, Buffalo Clover. Lupines can be slow to grow and flower. Once established, plants self-seed creating natural stands of flowers the next spring. Seeds require scarification.
To Grow:
Soak seeds overnight before planting. Direct sow seeds in spring after your last frost. Cover with 1/8" of soil. Water until established. Prefers average, well-draining soil. Do not overwater. Germination can be naturally slow and uneven.
