(Salvia apiana) Perennial. White sage is a traditionally revered evergreen shrub native to the southwestern US and found mainly on the edges of the Mojave and Sonoran deserts. This drought tolerant plant has been used for centuries by Native Americans for medicinal and ceremonial purposes. Silver leaves grow in a rosette arrangement on straight stalks. Flowers are loved by bees and other beneficial insects and provide food to native wildlife.

To Grow:
Sow indoors in early spring. Scarify seeds on fine-grit sandpaper, sow in very sandy soil, barely cover, tamp well, keep warm and in strong light and water only once daily until germination. Demands full sun and dry soil. Very low maintenance once established.
